  Close to the tennis courts and the beach. Loved having a dock for our sailboat. Topped off by rocking chairs, a double swing and a hammock. What's not to love?!

  This house was amazing! The house was updated and very nice. The space was perfect for our large family and kids. The decks were great with incredible views. We loved having the dock as we rented a boat for the week. Will definitely be returning!

  Tarr house was great. The dock made for a an awesome experience. Couple of things I would report as issues: sewer smell from upstairs queen bathroom, lots of insects indoors, and very corroded shower fixtures.

  We love Figure 8 and the Tarr home but there were a few issues. I was called the day of the rental and told the key was being left at the security gate. It was not left there and everyone had to track down the agent, go into the office and retrieve the key from her office. When we arrive in the home, the linens were left in bags in the hallway. Last year, sets of towels were left in each of the 4 bedrooms. Neither of these issues are “big deals”, but after a long day of travel, it wasn’t the best use of our time to have to wait 20 minutes for the key and then start doling out towels for all of my guests. Neither of these are the service I would expect for a luxury rental. Regarding the house, there is an ant problem in the kitchen. I had my 2 year old twin grandbabies in the house so I was absolutely not going to use bug spray, but judging from the cans of ant spray left behind in the house, I’m guessing this is a chronic problem. Overall we had a wonderful time on the island and I mention these few things because I think they should be easily fixable.

  We have stayed at Figure Eight for 12 years. This time, the house needed some upkeep and additional cleaning. The freezer was frozen shut, undercounter ice machine broke (this happened a previous year), all the outdoor hoses were broken so went, main floor toilet was not functioning and found black hair in bedding, kitchen ware not clean and sand in the house. The house has some great views and a terrific location but the owners and realty company need to fix things.

  We rented a sound house with 3 other couples. This is our 11th year and have stayed at the Tarr house for the past 3 years. We bring a boat so staying on the sound is critical however we love spending some time on the beach which is just a quick stroll away. Figure Eight is a peaceful getaway with beautiful views but also close to restaurants. The house is spacious so if you want to find a spot to read a book you can plus is has a terrific main floor that accommodates a big crowd. The only complaint I would give is that there was numerous dark hairs in a bedroom/bathroom, black mold was visible in an air vent and the WiFi strength was problematic. We plan to come back to Figure Eight for many more years.

  We Love Figure 8 and have stayed at the Tarr house several times. The first time we stayed, they had just renovated the kitchen and from there, I dont think they have done anything else. Neither ice maker worked, the wifi was not great and their password is crazy long, the washer only had one spin cycle that worked....One might coming in through the gate, we let them know our son was coming in later in an uber and they told us that renters weren't allowed that option? My husband did call the main office the next day to discuss and they did let him through that night, but still not a welcoming way to come onto the island after a nice night out. Also, I do not understand the 4 passes for each house that sleeps more than that. We also have family in town and it was such a hassle to get them on the island to see us. I know its mentioned that its a covid thing, but if you think about it it makes no sense at all that a car pass can restrict covid.
