  This classic Carolina beach house provided a comfortbale environment for a big family reunion. We enjoed the casual set up and amazing porch space. The bedrooms all came with private bathrooms and comfortbale beds.

  The house is in a great location and has great old school beach vibe. One bath per bedroom is also a plus. The furniture, inside and out needs to be replaced as it is worn and some of it is falling apart. A good cleaning and a coat of paint on the kitchen cabinets, inside and out, would certainly enhance this house. We really enjoyed our stay and would give it five out of five stars if the updates were made.

  We've been renting this house for nearly a decade, and this year decided it would be our last. It is, literally, falling apart: Rocking chairs on the porch have absolutely disintegrated, to the point that the original five chairs from five years ago are now down to one, the pots and pans are rusting and Teflon-peeling, the beds collapsed under one of the grandparents, the front sliding door was unusable to the point we had to go in and out the back door for entry...Over the years we've pitched in for minor repairs without complaint or report, so we are sad to see this once-beloved family tradition fall into a level of disrepair that makes it unusable (we stayed for two weeks every summer, after having owned the house across the street). So frustrating when all of these things could be easily repaired with a little bit of investment. Really, shame on the homeowners. It's terrible to take advantage of people who want to experience the beauty of the island by knowing they're willing to compromise their living conditions just to be there.

  we liked the location, easy parking, big covered area on ground, decks were good in both the morning and evening.
  
  mattresses are pretty bad, should be replaced. one or two bedrooms should have a king bed also - it would be tight, but worth it. we wouldnt likely stay here again until this happens.
  
  kitchen was just ok, would be tough if doing lots of cooking (e.g., thanksgiving), but we mostly grilled. water should have a purifier to conceal bad taste. I couldnt get sound system to work - a simple sonos system would be nice.
  
  sliding door was very hard to open, it needs track oiled - or maybe just replace it.

  We love staying at Figure 8 Island. This house is in a great location very close to a beach path. Deck railing is spaced too far apart and could be dangerous for small children. Living room furniture is not comfortable. TVs are very small. We like the general layout of the house with the bedrooms on the corners and the living room, kitchen and dining room in the center. We enjoyed the Basketball goal and the Ping Pong Table at the property. The outside shower was very nice when returning from the beach.

  The house was in a great location. Short walk to the beach and gorgeous sunsets. The deck around the house could use an update. Lots of rusty nails and rough boards. Kids got splinters. Beds were squishy...and sloped in the middle. Outdoor furniture was rusted and broken. The layout of the house was perfect for our needs. Loved the 70s retro feel. The kitchen could have been better equipped.
