On the 2nd level there are 2 bedrooms (Bunk [Double/Single], Queen) that share a jack & jill bath and the master suite (King) with a private bath. This level also offers a wet bar. Maximum 9. Protective sandbags placed.

  Our family loved staying in this house after several years away. It’s still a great house with plenty of room for all of us. The beach access is easy and the erosion isn’t too bad. Some of the nailheads in the shower and along some of the decking and steps need some attention, but overall, this is still a great house! One suggestion would be to have a professional cleaning crew clean the kitchen. Hopefully the renters before us took as much time cleaning the dishes, glassware, pots and pans etc, as we did for the next renters...but who knows. I think for as much as it costs to rent, that area should be included..or add another couple hundred. Can’t wait for next year!

  This home is past its prime and needs a refurbishment. Several appliances did not work. The ice maker was not working and the kitchen range hood did not work.

  We always treasure our time at Figure 8 and this is the second time we have rented Gallan. The location is perfect. The kitchen and living/dining area are nice and comfortable. The decks are wonderful but the deck chairs are so low that you can't see over the railing. Very small detail though. Our main complaint with the house was with the bedroom furnishings. The bedding seems old (some of the comforters had stains) and it would be nice to have lighting for two people to read in bed. Also, the kitchen had the main items needed for cooking but it would be nice to have more plastic cups for the beach.

  We love this island. Realty company is very professional. This house was a disappointment. The exterior had major issues with leaning steps to the beach, broken screening around HVAC, very dirty and cluttered under the house. We had a roof leak in the rain, electrical issues. Both of these were fixed as soon as possible. We had to ask for a broom because the broom was unusable. Some cleaning products like Windex would have been helpful. We bought some but for that price some basics would have been nice.

  We love Figure 8. The beach is beautiful, quiet, and private. The real estate group is easy to work with and responsive. Unfortunately, not all houses are taken care of. Our house had a significant amount of deferred maintenance and it showed. From an air conditioner units that were so rusted they no longer functioned. Mold and pealing paint on the upstairs ceiling probably due to the high humidity from the poorly functioning AC. Exposed drywall for the kitchen ceiling from a repair that was previously done and a leaking roof that we had to set pots out for in the living area to collect all of the dripping water. Not the quality we have come to expect for Figure 8.

  The Gallan House meets all our needs from 70 years old to 4 years young! The master bedroom down stairs is perfect! The balconies are great for couples and their families! All have an ocean view!   This was a gorgeous house right on the beach that was perfect for a family getaway with multiple generations. The living room, which we couldn’t really see in the pictures online, was comfortable and had room for everyone to gather on two big leather couches. We didn’t know there would be a piano, and my kids were excited to get to play. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment – the only criticism there is that we had to re-wash a lot of the dishes before using them. We really appreciated the heated outdoor showers for coming in from the beach and not tracking sand all over the house. And there were lots of outdoor spaces with seating on different sides of the house, so we could enjoy being outside even if it was too bright, or too dark, or too windy in one direction. That was especially nice since some of us had to do some remote work and needed some quiet spaces to get away too. We will definitely rent this house again!
